Going to ride in the dark tomorrow, spooky.

What's the crack at Sherwood Pines in terms of night riding? I take it the gates get closed at some point? Where would be best to park? Any notorious sexual deviants to be aware of? etc etc...

Just be aware that there is a night running race happening in the Pines tomorrow night, and so a reasonable amount of singletrack, including some of the red route, is likely to be taped off. If it's anything like last year, it'll go right up through the bike park area too...

So if you go, just don't be surprised to see rather a lot of folks in head-torches running about!

Oh, bugger. Thanks for the heads up.

I think we'll still probably go and see what the deal is, hopefully they won't have blocked too much of the red route.

We park down Eakring Road just where the Tarmac ends, not had any issues apart from having the dog sledders scare me death.

Drive up to the normal car park, but don't go in. Turn right onto the road that is used as the exit road from the car park.

Park on that, the bottom gate is always left open, or is on a sensor for people leaving. They won't ticket your car or anything.

The gates on a sensor for forest holidays but pretty sure the other side of the exit ie car park side there's those posts that come out of the road.

I've seen a car and van broken into on the Eakring road in the last few weeks so I'd avoid parking there if I were you.

We park in the Limes cafe on the A614. There is a road then a track which leads into the Pines. Adds a few miles onto the ride but that's never a problem.
