Got two workshops next week in Leeds and then in pudsey. Where should I stay and where should I night ride? Any where I can ride and not have to figure out a route? Nearest trail centres? Don't want to drive too far.

Ideas?

Check out the North Leeds Rides thread on BikeMagic.com - or John Hooper (John_drummer on here I think) might be along to advise. Think they were Tuesday, thesre is also the BadBrains lot who are usually around wakefield somewhere - used to be a Wednsday night. You're also not that (45 min) from Calderdale, I seem to remeber there was a Thursday ride round there.

The only trail centre in even remotely striking distance is Stainburn - probably not to be ridden solo at night unless you are a riding god.

As for staying - that's budget dependant. Not that much in Pudsey - there is a travel lodge on the way to Bradford (easy walk to goo curry houses on the way down to Bradford) or the Corn Mill Lodge is near by.

Leeds, I think the Malmaison was always good. There is the usuall selection of Novotel/Hilton etc. etc.

For Pudsey curry I'd recommend the Polash in Bramley, but can check with friends who still live there.

If it's light and you want somewhere to mess about the woods in Troydale are good.

I miss it round there.

Bad Brains MBC ride Tuesdays and Thursdays (we've never done club rides on a Wednesday)
have a poke around our forum to see what we are up to

Although mainly Wakefield based we do ride all over this fair county and most rides are not a million miles away from where you willbe based.

While we're on the subject, any riding to be had around Pudsey / Tong / Birkenshaw? Bits of open countryside, lots of woodsey bits and a few BWs and paths looking at the OS map... Anyone know of a route?

Sadly thanks for the club ride offers but my overnight is Wednesday, poo. Stainburn looks like it might entertain for the night... Not too far out and I will have my car.
