I agree, very retro and yet, contemporary....the perfect combo. Shame those wheels will not see much life with everyday use; sunny sunday or race meet only 🙂

A more subtle down tube graphic would improve it. To me the Cervelo R5Ca is better looking for that very reason.

frame looks no better or worse than Burls, Lynskey, Enigma et al, oh wait, it has pink newspaper under the clear coat, it must be amazing.... at least they put a proper groupset on it and didnt ruin it with some ugly electronic stuff.

External cabling, covered in newspaper with pink highlights. i bet there's no change from 7k?
Should have gone to Specsavers! 😀
And they haven't even put end caps on the cables! very shoddy...

I'd definitely have a Baum in my Lottery-win fleet but looks-wise I reckon the Gulf Oil one they did is nicer, obviously not to everyone's tastes though!

Those pink bits are actually clippings from the Gazzetta

The only bit that bugs me is that the bike should have been moved two inches to the left for the photo

Like this too, apart from the bars

Boring and mainstream.
Way to much black which has the ffect of making everything look heavy.
That pink doesn't look good at all. Thousands of bikes look as good.

spiffing! It's still in the shop at the moment. I hurt my back over Xmas so it's still to be ridden. It's there if you want a go!

The Baum is nice, although I would have 9070 Di2 on it!

I think the new Madone 7-series looks the mutts to be honest, the stays look so clean with no brake:

[img] [/img]

Although I imagine the brand whores will froth at the mouth! Only £10k for a top spec one!

Di2 doesn't look good on anything. Its too clunky. Super Record on the other hand... mmmm

I guess you can pay a bit extra on Project One and get no/stealth decals - could just about live with it then 😉

I don't think that first bike is anything special. I like black, such as;

[img] [/img]

Road bikes are better with Di2 (try it!), and will look even better once we get disk brakes on them.

Sure, in fact you can use my entry at Thetford on Sunday if you want. I won't be doing it.

That Cervelo is stunning, just a shame its got Campag on it

Looking forward to my mother in law moving on and blowing a wedge on a Seven . ( no mother in laws were hurt in the post and she probably has a good million years to go anyways )

I spotted a Ridley Helium at the Bikeshow on Sat and it was rather nice I'll have to admit, in the flesh that is.

they make a bike using an Italian newspaper, and they put on red? sacrilege! Campag Super Record, or nothing.

Nicest road bike ever? Colnago Master. Thread closed!

Really? I just don't get Colnago, or any of the older Italian brands (maybe with the exception of Bianchi).

Lightweight wheels, London banker target then! They are very pretty bikes tho.

Last night, I went from lusting after a cervelo SLC-Sl to a Lynskey. On that note, why are their brushed frame more expensive; is it the technique...is it done by hand?

Good thread. My next build will be a titanium frame road bike. Spoke to the frame builder yesterday and I'll be going for a fitting, next month.

A GIOS with Campy would be very high up my list, in the style of the great Roger de Vlaeminck.

The Evo 6 is nice, but a bit plain.

Something made of Columbus xcr tubing would be high up there for me. Something like this, but with a brushed logo and Campag rather than Shimano: [img] [/img]

Well, to me, mine is the nicest road bike ever*.

Moots RSL, ENVE, Zipp, Super Record EPS, King, Moots finishing kit.

[img] [/img]

*until I buy a new one/my Colnago Master arrives (if the Italians ever build it).

EPS is nice, but definitely not worth the money TBH.

Actually, the bike collection is at an all time low. Just the Moots RSL and Turner Sultan (posted elsewhere on here), with a beautiful Colnago Master 30th in Mapei Blue Decor (AD10) on its way to be fitted with Record and Hyperons. That might yet be a contender for nicest ever road bike when/if it ever arrives (been 6 months so far!).

Think that might do me for a while.

Some really really nice stuff, full marks for the Torino and Slim Chance 😀 And the Colnago, since a Master X light may be winging its way to my man cave very soon 😀
Cannae believe someone posted a Trek, I can fully appreciated that it would have taken 10K for one to even look passingly interesting. 😈

Back in the day, I used to race Colnago Masters, ours were red with gold loops.. Spent many an hour racing on those things, when I left the team the bike went back... 🙁

TBH I'm not too sure it's the nicest bike I've ridden, my Parlee Z5 is probably though.. 😉

The big problem with a lot of these bikes is the lack of pedals. I always find them awkward to ride...

The nicest roadbike ever is the one I'm hoping to complete this weekend... Or it would be if I'd shopped at CRC rather than UK Bike Store 😉

Pics will follow next week hopefully...

You can have your stealth black and shiny silver, give me an in your face paintjob on a Look anyday.
And the Baum the OP featured is gorgeous.
Not sure if there exists a nicest road bike ever though.

Meh to the bike in the OP.

This bike is equipped with 2012 SRAM Red, ENVE Smart 3.4... All up, it weights 7kg without even trying.

No, not trying at all 🙄 - yet it still weighs almost a pound more than my £2k bike with deep rim wheels.

That Look is gorgeous, and if you like overtly liveried bikes, this takes some beating...

But for me, the simplicity of this Canyon TT is simply stunning...

The correct answer, as mentioned before, is the Colnago Master. And, specifically imo the Master Olympic.

I don't get the baum, sure, his frames are nice but the frames aren't any different to a parlee or a seven or any other builder of that type of which there are tons all closer to europe. colnago has heritage and the master is a great longlasting frame with classic looks and, although not fashionable, beautiful paint job.

Another vote for English:
(although this one loses marks for being photographed in the granny ring)

[img] [/img]

Road bikes should be stealth, simple and functional. Elegant. Not some garish eurotrash and certainly not draped in Campag.

Sorry to gatecrash amongst all you roadies (i do like Waderider's Corvelo on page 1, if I'm honest), but hey! Why has that Trek got NO BACK BRAKE?

It's under the chain stays innit. Not sure that's wise IRL. I only clean mine out of shame, as it's in plain view of anyone behind me. If it was under the bike I'd likely not bother. 😳
