Recommend me somewhere to sit and drink/eat twixt east London and the west end please. Nice view too if poss, but with Mrs crikey, so not too many young ladies, points awarded for historical interest and lack of silly prices.

BFI Bar at the South Bank? Nice place to chill by the Thames ... That's the only 'view' you're gonna get south of Highgate
Or Canal 125 in Kings Cross.
