Just reading a review of the Orange Five, and this made me laugh out loud: "With its pressed and folded aluminium frame and single pivot suspension design, it should have been confined to the skip a long time ago. The fact it’s still here today isn’t because of the company’s unwillingness to move with the times, but the continued demand for a bike that just works."

I saw in the flesh a Giro (29er version) t'other day. I have to say in the looks department the original 5 looks far better TBH, and that's coming form a 29er fanbouy..

But in terms of bike related media I'd listen to, BM are just above Bike Radar/MBUK, right at the bottom.

Oh I don't know, they're not that bad are they Davey? Like some of their stuff these days. As for MBUK, haven't picked up a copy in years!

Simple straight forward, works and great angles.
I have the privilege of working close to BETD GOLDTEC, and spend quite a lot of time there, it is rare it dont see a multipivot bike pulled to pieces due to pathetic bearing/ linkage design, some end up with adapted reamed frames, some need frame replacement.
Worth considering if your are going to keep a frame for longer than a season!!!

What is it that made you laugh? The bit you quoted is probably the most factual part of a review that any journo has ever written about anything.

The head tube is tapered, a necessary standard on 140/150mm bikes these days.

Is it? Why?

I thought 44mm was the new 'standard'? See, utter, utter tosh.
