Looks 9/10ths boring, 1/10th disgusting, to me. Bet it rides well though!

Sportive more than cx 😉

JoB did a review of those shifter mounts on road.cc. He wasn't overly impressed iirc.

Looks pretty poo to me.

Massive seatpost to wobble in the wind, silly flared out bars, old yet new silly thumb shifter instead of STIs, single front ring.

Gravel racer would seem to be the latest US crap-niche.

Ah yes ... 44Bikes do some fantastic looking bikes (...in my opinion 😉 ).

I especially like the Kidd Dangerous F, and their Fatbike ...

*sigh* ... so many bikes, such little time ...

Ah, like my Gryphon was for a time (before I relented and put some sensible tires on it. 😀 )?

Hmm, you're right - it certainly looks a bit 'chicken and egg' there ... (tho' that's perhaps not the best analogy, given that birds are of course reptiles, so it was 'egg'). 🙄

... anyway, yeah, I see the similarity.

OP, sorry about the wandering about, I agree tho' - nice CX.

😀

It's neither Fish nor Fowl is it?

Do we have any Gravel races, or events in the UK? (I wish we did because I'd be well up for it....)

And what's wrong with a CX bike this kind of use anyway? Seems like another niche of a niche of a niche that the Bike Industry wants everyone to buy into.. $$$$$$$

Chunkymbt!

I like it but I am a little strange!
Looks very fast especially hill climbing!
Everyone should have a cyclocross or similar!

I really like that Huntsman gravel bike ... I am a little confused at the retroshift shifter as I struggle to see why you would go down that road over an sti or even a bar end shifter .. guess there must be some plus points as they are popping up on alot of the US bikes.

We don't have ANY gravel races .. unless you wanna count the Kielder 100 🙂

They are definitely not a niche or a fad in the US .. these bikes have come about through demand .. no point building a bike if no one is gonna buy it .. Salsa have sold all of their stock of Warbirds into dealers already hence the UK will be seeing maybe one or two.

http://www.gravelgrindernews.com/ .. great resource for anyone wanting to travel to do a grinder .. list of races down right hand side of blog is massive now ... there seems to be another few added every week,

Much in the same way that many of the riders chose tweed over modern materials.

Yep, niche ****tery over function.

As in,

Look at me! I'm so individual, ordinary cx is just too mainstream for me!
