Was there for 9:00 and up for it,parked up tosside and proceeded round with much haste, got round in 1 hour 41 minutes
,my best time is 1 hour 38 mins, saw a rake of people up there, stopped to chat to a few as well, gully gully was sloppy though, what is everyone else's times for getting round Gisburn then or is it just me that's anal?

I don't always time myself so but now and again I feel the need to hammer it,you did fast laps then, like you said its a good training loop, its only down the road so I don't have to treat it as a one off and take in the scenery I've done that enough, the people I go with like yo chill out s I get a chance on my own to get times down.

1:34 here. That includes Hully Gully but not The Slab.

Nothing wrong with going for a fitness ride and using timings to motivate you/measure your performance.

2 hours 40 mins last week, but that included 2 stops to clear trees and a couple if stops to chat to other trail builders. Despite that I seemed to take the same time as a couple if other groups. Today took 6 hours to do 20 yards, but that was trail building not riding.

About 1.30ish on a decent day, 1.45 on a dodgy one. Whenever I'm on for a really fast lap, Martin Colledge appears out of a bush for a five minute chat!

Was hoping to get over there today but never made it. I was helping on a road race near Clitheroe in the morning but by the time that had finished the weather was abysmal and I couldn't be bothered riding all the way over the fell to Gisburn in those conditions.

About 1.20 is my best but that's on a CX bike so probably a bit quicker uphill and a bit slower on some of the rocky bits than a MTB. I'd like to try it on a nice lightweight short travel XC full sus.

I heard the shovels going stumpyjon, gargantuan respect for you and the other trail builders, back on the way down from the slab to hully gully is nice and smooth now.
Hebdencyclist your bang on with your comment, trying to get around any trail centre with low fitness levels is no fun so a good thrashing once in a while helps to enjoy our sport.

1hr 8mins for me. That was before I had a reverb so stopping at the bottom of the descents to put my seatpost back up again probably cost me a minute in total. I know it's splitting hairs but hey, every second counts 😆 Would also love to try a flying lap on something less burly than my 31lb nomad. That heft certainly feels like it takes it's toll on the ups.

I need a new frame, mines to heavy, maybe could shave a few seconds off my time with a lighter bike.

Was up there with a mate today, cracking loop if not a bit puddly in places, but hey ho. (It's not a complaint btw) saw quite a few riders out and the trail building guys firing up the power barrows (hats off to you fellas)

Did a lap and a bit overall, the Slab, Hully Gully 3 times (and it still made us giggle), Did four runs of the Hope line, finished off with a brew and bacon buttie at the cafe just as the wind got up.

52 mins is my best. That was before they put in all that bloody singletrack though 🙂
Does anyone else miss all the 'cheeky' bits that has pretty much all gone with the logging? My favourite was what we called 'Blair Witch'; down hully gully, up the other side to the fire road, then rather than drop down left to the bridge, turn right then left into a dark, damp, slitherfest of steep forest hillside. Happy days.

Surprisingly I didn't hammer the downhills today, certainly took my time on hully gully as I nearly came off on the first rocky decent the mud just took my front wheel from under me,next time I will start from the hub, doubt I will be doing it in 1hour 8 mins though will be a while till I get times like that.

There is stuff at Gisburn that requires seatpost dropping?.......

Even my 11 year old can ride the rock staircase on home baked with the saddle up (not sent him down the slab yet)

Langylad - yep, I remember the cheeky bit after hully gully. Did it get used for a NAMBS xc race once? Would love it if one day the forest trails could be extended out that way and linked to Bowland. Dropping in from Dunsop bridleways - Salter Fell - Bowland Knotts would be ace (when it is dry).
