Not quite NBD but today was first ride day so that's close enough.
Custom Waltly frameset which I accidentally ordered when I ordered the MTB frame - discount for 2 and they shipped/insured etc 2 for 1 in a single box so by my maths it was a no-brainer.
Fairly standard gravel geometry, basically a 58cm but with the standover of a 55 and more post showing.
Bolt-on external cable routing for easy and clean swapping between geared and singlespeed.
Spec is a mixed bag:
Ritchey wheels/bar/stem/post
Hope HS/BB/Clamp
Ergon saddle/tape
TRP Spyre brakes
And then took a massive punt on a Sensah 1x11 11/50 - 42 groupset because why not?
Tires were swapped to 42mm Pathfinders after this photo was taken, which reminds me - not my garden!
Only had about 90 minutes on it tonight but so far so good, it's very smooth...

I like that a lot, how does the price compare to getting a Ti frame from Planet X for example? And what forks did you spec on that? It'll be interesting to see how that group set goes over the mid to long term, I've read recently that they have been upping their game and getting better.
Looking on the PX site it looks like going direct will save about £100 on average inc shipping etc.
Probably not worth doing just to save the cash but the saving is a bonus if you fancy something custom.
Forks have been a bit of an issue - I ordered some Waltly gravel forks but they use a closed leg on the drive side so you don't see any axle. It's a really clean looking design and the fork itself seems rock solid but I find not being able to see the axle a bit odd.
So I picked up a pair of Mason carbon forks which have the correct geo for the build. Waltly have said they'll refund their forks if I don't want them which is good of them, but I'll probably keep them and find a use for them at some point because other than my weird hang-up they seem perfect.
Groupset is better than expected - shifts like Sram doubletap but with a lighter, shimano feel.
That looks really nice actually - those Waltly frames look really clean 👌
Very nice, it still looks clean without the need for internal cable-routing.
Interested to hear how the Sensah works out, I presume they don;'t do a hydro brake version?
I'd love a custom road bike frame. I think I must have some odd proportions in my legs. All my bikes end up with the saddle as far forward as possible.
How did you chose the geometry? Just ask them to change something and they worked out the rest?
I haven't had a custom frame as I worry I'll get it wrong and be lifted with something that doesn't work that's unsellable.
@woodster - they do make a hydraulic system but not in a 1x flavour afaik.
@tall_martin - essentially I didn't want anything too different to the norm geo-wise so I picked something I knew would work then tweaked it to be what I wanted. More standover, different cabling etc.
The more off-piste you go the greater the likelihood of messing up I expect!
I'd basically want a longer lower slacker road bike.
I'm not £££ convinced it would work. Just steepen the seat tube, slacken the head angle, lower the BB, lengthen the chain stays.
As you say, more chance of messing up.
Sounds a bit like a more roadified version of an Evil Chamois Hagar, give it a go!
That is very nice, congrats.
