Hi,
I have a VSF FAHRRAD MANUFAKTUR T-50 - ROADSTER - NEXUS 8, the Shimano SL-S503 Alfine 8-Speed Right Hand Rapidfire shifter is shifting the opposite way to any other shifter I have seen, the cable is routed correctly and I’m stumped, any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

They just shift the opposite way - nothing more to it. I have to recalibrate swapping between my work bike and MTB.

Shimano tried to make everyone swap to reverse operating / reverse sprung derailleurs but it wasn't popular - this is just a hangover from that era.

If you turn the bike upside down it shifts the usual way

I thought as much, thanks for confirming, I love the bike, it’s totally different to anything else I’ve had but great for what I want if for.

Bar-end shifter, rotate 180 degrees. Problem solved.

I think Microshift do some Nexus triggers (I once had a Danish bike with 7 speed). But I've no idea what direction they shift in....

The Microshift grip shift for the Nexus is awful (had to replace four of them with Shimano) so I don't hold out much hope for the trigger shift. They also go the wrong way!
