Having realised I'd had the frame 18 months and not managed to build it, I finally finished off the paint that i started a year ago and managed to use a mixture of parts bin and budget parts to get it together.
It's a Chromag Surface of the 142 rear axle era.

Pretty happy with it, but the proof is in the riding.
How did you get that paint finish?
Montana Crackle paint.

Very easy to do, it would be more even, but I didn't read the directions and left about 8 months between the base coat and crackle coat rather than the <24 hours it tells you to, but I quite like it like this.
Nice.
Like my old Muddy Fox!
Like that, paint job is great.
Paint looks great!
You should try Mr Greenthumb for the lawn - worked a treat on ours.
I've thought about using that paint. Glad to see how good it looks.
Love the paint job, bike looks great!
In those colours it looks......engorged. Like
I like it. I want to take the stickers off the rims and fork though.
I love the paint!

TBH i think he did the paint !
Your lawn is better than mine. Paint also looks ace.
Wow! Can you make me one?
Scarify to get the kiss out. Top dress with fine soil. Add seeds and feed.
Paint looks great. Really like it.
Thanks! I’m really happy with the paint, it was very easy to do and more forgiving than standard rattle can paint jobs. I now want to crackle paint everything. The one concern is how well it’ll hold up though.
I will remove the fork and wheel decals at some point and perhaps a new stem and bar if I find something cheap.
I’m not much of a gardener, so I think I’ll just leave the lawn to do it’s thing.
The twentieth feather board in from the left looks a bit bowed. What's the story with that?
Paint is dope, bike is nice.
that's awesome!
