It's looking like Kevin will have lost some of the mobility in his right arm and shoulder which includes some of his reach.

His goal of a New Year's bike ride isn't going to happen but the aim is still to hit the Alps in July. Twelve months after his injury

He's now allowed to start back at the gym to start and slowly build back up

Main concern for riding is turning the bars to the left.  All his bikes are S4 in size.

With that in mind we were offered an S3 at a too good to miss price for him to start back on when he's allowed.

Bike was delivered last week and dropped off at 18 Bikes for Invisiframeing and a once over and collected yesterday

Ah that's great and terrible all at once. Really hope it's the answer to the problems.

Thanks. Not allowed to try swimming yet but with the movement he has it would be in circles 🤣

Main concern for riding is turning the bars to the left.

I'd not worry too much about it affecting his ability to ride.
Due to an injury I had years ago i have in effect one arm that's a fair bit shorter than the other.
I'm unable to straighten my right arm fully due to the way one of the bones goes into my elbow.

TBH it's never really affected my riding as you soon learn to adapt to these kind of things.
I think going down a size is over reacting slightly and I'm sure he'll be fine once he gets some strength back.
I do however understand how frustrating these things can be having had a shoulder injury on my good side. That laid me off the bike for nine months and was pretty horrible and still gives me pain every day.

As long as I can ride though I can put up with it.

Thanks for that. He's said the same that whatever he finishes up with he will need to adapt but needs to be out riding. Besides the lack of reach he also has little forward or sideways arm movement. In that it's free to move but can't or wont past certain points. Hopefully the nerve damage may get better.
His intention is to try and ride the S4s first  The S3 is plan B.

Best of luck whatever happens.
I had almost no movement in my shoulder and it took 18 months of stretches and exercises to get back to full range of movement.
If he keeps plugging away at things it'll get better.
It's just hard not to get frustrated when you feel like it's not getting any better.
Shoulders are complicated and trying to rush things can be counter productive.

sounds horrible, was it an over the bars crash that led to the injury?

Pics will be a plenty. He's also contemplating visiting Abigale to ride in NZ
