Went up to Newcastleton this morning for a quick spin having first checked online to see if there were closures due to the recent storm.  Notices at the trailhead said red, blue and cross border routes all closed due to fallen trees.  Grrrr.

It could finish newcastleton depending on how bad it is. It's a great wee ride and underused.

It was repaired (eventually) last time.  I agree that it's good - not remotely technical, but good fun and, if you combine it with a bit of Kielder via the Cross Border Route (also closed now) a nice day out.

Useful heads up, thanks. There are a couple of really nice wee bits and try to head down there with the kids once or twice a year as it tends to be deserted. Be useful to know if there's any estimated timescale for reopening.

If it's from the recent storms it'll take time just to get a full assessment never mind work out next steps- and that'll be very tied into other damage elsewhere, since it's the same people/machines that do it all. More so since every subequent blow changes the situation (not always a bad thing, but still complicating) If it's not a quick fix, it's likely to be a pretty slow fix, at this point.

I believe the Chiller 24 race is meant to be here in March, hope this doesn't ruin that..

Chiller is possibly on the ropes. Barry needed 50 more for it to run.

That looks like a good event, unfortunately I've never heard of it.
