Hi - was going to visit Newcastleton but saw that the start point has been moved - anyone been there recently - is it a long drag from the village to the trail start and worth the ride back? Thanks.
Ride there is a drag but mainly because it is all up hill. Nice easy riding though. Ride back is well worth it in my opinion. Fast, smooth trail with some good berms. (similar to the blue at Glentress).
Signage isn't great but then I joined half wayround having come over from Kielder so it was a little confusing.
Go for it, at least once, well worth it to make you own mind up.
It's good. Ride starts just outside town with a reasonable climb, distance wise but nit steep. Then usual fun. The route seems to end with about 3 miles of down. And it's still reasonably smooth. I like it. Singing is poor out of town because apparently planning permission is needed for each sign.
