Morning all. I am planning a trip to the Toon to progress my search for a £1500-2000 gravel(ish) bike and see some of the bikes that folk have kindly recommended on here "in the flesh", along with others. Main target will be to visit Embra Bike Coop, CJ Performance, and Cycle Centre, partly because they are close together and I can leave my car at Asda car park 🙂
Any other "must see" shops you can recommend (or comments on the 3 above, from the point of vier of a) looking at stuff and b) actually being a paying customer) ??
Thanks again for all the useful tips about which bikes to consider!!
Alpkit at Metrocentre to look at Camino?
Edinburgh Bike Coop - top of shields road Byker
Team Cycles - Team Valley (easy parking)
CJ Performance have a newer larger (I think) store on the outskirts of Cramlington now (as well as the city one)
Start Fitness have a good amount of bikes on display down in the centre

As long as MrsJ doesn't drag me into IKEA at the same time 🙁

Good to know, thanks. As above but substitute "North East Tiles" for "IKEA". 🙂
StartCycles ain’t a flash store really but they do have some good kit at nice prices.
Check their website before you go
Not been, but heard good things about Backyard Bike Shop in Gateshead. https://www.backyardbikeshop.com

I don't ride road/gravel so never been in here, possibly more top end bikes than op's budget but definitely worth a look
Under the Tyne Bridge on Gateshead side of the river
Infinity Cycles down near Durham is good if you can venture further afield.
