New to mountain biking and the conti mountain king 2's on my XC hardtail don't seem to be the best at Ashton Court/Leigh Woods at the mo.

Any recomendations for tyres (2.1 to 2.3 in width for kids size 26" wheels).

Cheers.

For these conditions try some Maxxis Beaver 2.25 for a good all round winter tyre. 2.0 size has better mud slicing skillz but like the Bontrager Xr-mud, they've very thin and offer little in the way of cushioning

Mud tyres might be overkill for the man-made trails of AC/LW. I'd just get something a little bigger and stickier for the front, a big Beaver (haha) like z1ppy says or one of those nice cheap On-One Smorgasboards for example, and then run it at a less than 30psi.

I'd go with a brand new in box scwalbe nobby nic 2.25 TLR snakeskin pacestar.

In the classifieds...
