Obviously doing this is primarily a marketing thing, but I kind of think its a shame they didnt make a really top end XC race bike. 130mm travel hard tails with a dropper post are 10 a penny and not exactly exciting.

And it's not left-over frames from the last ARC production run. Steep seat angle, slack (for XC) head angle. Reach isn't as long as the SBs. 465mm on a large. Might mean there's a new ARC for general release coming soon. A slightly more affordable one...

Yeti Arc has to have curved stays

or it's just another hardtail! Imagine getting rock strikes on that frame... not for riding are they.

Sure it's an expensive bike, but working it out:

Frame £2,000ish
Fork £1,000ish
Groupset £2,000ish
Wheels/Tyres £2,000ish
Contact Points £500ish

Gets you to about £7,500. Add a bit for the paint job and exclusivity of the some of the parts (custom Chris King hubs for example) and the bits I have missed and it's probably not far off the £9,000 asking price.

Don't get me wrong, that's a lot for a hardtail and they are only making 100 which gives you a clue as to how many people are willing to spend that much on a hardtail, but I guess there's some value beyond just the sum of the parts.

I doubt they are meant to be ridden hard anyway - probably more to be hung on the wall. I am sure that there will be a new ARC for actually riding along soon.

Would have been nice to see curved stays, but this particular design feature made engineering sense with tubular aluminium and absolutely no sense in carbon fibre other than for nostalgic reasons. Otherwise, I do tend to agree that there isn't much to differentiate it from any other open mold hardtail out there. I can see the point in premium suspension designs, but for a hardtail, to me the cratsmanship of a handmade product is more appealing (but I might be a bit biased!).

To me, it's a nice statement, a bit of fun to celebrate the 35th birthday and bit of bike bling to liven up the morning. I don't get too offended by the price because I am not about to buy one.

£10k?

Good news! It’s only £9k. Which is a grand more than the top of the range, but not limited edition Specialized Epic HT AXS, which doesn’t have a dropper...

Almost good value 😉

Bet they’ve sold out already.

Agree with DezB, it's just not an ARC.
Removing the most distinctive feature of the Yeti ARC is hardly a fitting tribute to celebrate 35 years, it's almost as annoying as what the GT zaskar has turned into, yet another iconic frame that's betrayed its roots.

Also remade in carbon in 2013, with kinda curvy bits:

new one needs more this:

they've just copied the colour scheme, for 10k i'd want my dropper anodized blue too!!!

It certainly looks good, and if it rides as well and is as much fun as my 2014 Carbon Arc is, then it will be a fantastic bike. I still love riding mine and have no desire to change it, although I doubt I would spend as much again on a frame.

Still holding out for a new ARC-X. Guess I’ll have to wait for their 50th anniversary. Gives me time to save up...

It does look nice...but without the stays (which should be 'easy' enough with carbon), then it is just a nice looking hardtail with a great paintjob...which is a shame.

Bet it is a hoot to ride.

Always dreamed of a disc version of that. Time is right, now gravel is the thang!

Back end of those old ARCs still look like shopping trolleys.

I’m sure there is a market for them but for my money it looks overpriced for nothing special. As others have said most will be bought to look  at rather than ride

This, that is not an Arc.    I like though and I'd love to buy one if only it was £7000 cheaper.

There doesn't need to be much of a market for them. They're only making 100. It's largely a PR/social media clickbait exercise.
