Morning All

Its time to replace my Crossrides as I want to get a lighter set of tubeless wheels on my Heckler. I dont do any big jump freeride type stuff just the odd hop & pop while out on my local trails and a few trips to wales each year. Currently my forks are still QR but I'm hoping to change later in the year to 15mm so a convertible front hub is in order.

I know that Hope/Flows are popular choices but cant find the weight for these. The Crests are lighter but is there a weight limit of them, I'm 13st FWIW.

CRC have Sun Black Flag Pro's which tick the boxes but I cant get past the gold hubs and nipples and the Chargers are nearly the same weight as my Crossrides.

What about a set of Shimano XT wheels but I dont think the front hubs can be converted?

Budget of around £2-250, what do people recomend?

For that kinda moneyyoure looking at pro2 Evo and crests for about 1550g although I recon you're looking at about £260/270 for that which is more than your budget..
Superstar were doing deals on the switch/crest wheels which were about 1600g for around the £200 mark, some builds were a bit suspect apparently and the back up may have been patchy.
Having read through a lot of similar threads on here the black flag pros were getting decent reviews but you've already stated you're not a fan of the colour scheme..
Someone was doing deals on XTs but although the come in QR and 15mm I'm not sure if they can swap between the two..
Was in a similar position myself with wheels, got one of the last sets of Roval Traverse ELs but had intendedgoing for a crest rimmed setup before I nabbed the Rovals..

How about either

Or

The Crests are lighter but I'm aware that Superstar wheels have a reputation for being a bit iffy. Is the weight liable to make that much difference at the end of the day?

The Rovals seem to have good reviews and being made by Spesh getting any problems sorted out should be easy enough given the number of dealers.

Having owned both, I'd go for the Pro2 Evo/Crests over the Rovals.

Stiffer and easier to get spares. Very little weight difference.

Build your own.

Buy the Wheelpro book fort a few quid and once you make your own wheels, you won't look back, honest.

surprisingly easy

The Pro2/Crests on Winstanely for £264 a pair, does anyone know if they come with rim tape valve and tubeless gloop or will I have to buy that seperately?

Same question regarding the Superstar Switch/Crest wheel set (which I'm leaning towards).

ok its come down to a choice between

1) Pro2 Evo/Crest 1650g £260 Clicky

2) Superstar Switch/Crest 1600g £220 Not so Clicky

3) Roval Traverse AL 1750g £210 Dont know how clicky

All have adjustable front hubs, tubeless compatible and good reviews. The Hopes are at the very top of my budget, kinda edging towards the Superstar/Crest on cost with the Rovals hovering in third.

I'd like to get this sorted over the weekend but find myself dithering like a thing that dithers... 😳

Got the traverse ELs on a good Evans deal and they're pretty quiet.. Think the internals on the ELs are dt Swiss though- ALs aren't? Out of the pros and switch tho I'd prob lean towards the hopes just for back up if nothing else..
