Afternoon all, considering some new brakes and was just wondering if anyone had got their hands on a set of the new XT brakes yet?

If you have, how are they? What have they replaced?

Other option would be a set of the new Magura MT4 brakes? Same question as above really.

MT4 are not available for at least another 4 weeks in the UK.

The sample MT4 have been tested & reports are good.

MT6 have been out & about, & I think they function well, are light, powerful with no fade, & easy to set up.

My MT8 haven't seen proper riding yet, but same opinion as MT6. Some parts are a bit more delicate as you would expect.

IF the MTs are an improvement on Louises and Martas then that will be some bloody serious stopping power! Louises ougun current XTs fairly easily on power IME 🙂

Didn't realise the MT4's weren't out yet.

I think from reading about them that the MT8,6,4 should all have the same power as they are the same brake just with different lightweight bits.

If the MT's are an improvement on the current Louises, then they will be hard to beat. I think the Louises were only outgunned by Saints in that other forums dyno test.

If they are more powerful, then I doubt the new XT's will beat them. But, the carbotechture master cylinders worry me. Are they going to be flexy/flimsy, being essentially plastic?
