Light weight, 80mm fork compatible, going to do a bit of XC racing, enduro and solo 24...

Was going to get a Salsa Moto Rapido, but supplier has discontinued due to strength of Dollar v Pound... would love a Cotic Soda but no small frames due in the UK 'till Sept or later...

Any bright ideas???

Kinesis Maxlight XCPro2 (the carbon stayed one) = £399, 80-100mm forks, 1.6kgs

Just an idea, though not sure what you've already ruled out?

Have to spend a lot more to get a lighter frame than this..

Arent most racey frames set up for 100mm these days? Pretty sure it would still be ok at 80mm if thats what you have for it.

The Scandal does appear to be excellent Value of Money and may prove to be a sensible choice... but when did sense ever have a bearing when choosing a new bike???

Old-style Anthem?

2008-stock or secondhand. Great with 80mm forks.

The Merlin looks good.

The Be-One Blue is an awesome frame, albeit more expensive, not sure if they sell any cheaper frames.

There's any number of light alloy hardtails out there for that money(I'm sure you can find stuff buy on-one, merlin, viper, kinesis, kona, edinburgh bicycle etc). I would eiher see which of those I could get the best deal on, or try to find a second hand full sus frame.

Got to be hardtail... I'd only crash faster on a full sus!!!

I blew my budget and ordered a 2009 Carbon Whyte 19 frameset before christmas. I have had plenty of time to save for it - no sign of it arriving yet 😡
