Built one for a customer the other day seems decent for the money air fork is the main thing, a lot of other options don't have that.

That looks nice. When will they make a kids bike that proportionally weighs as much as an adult's? My 5 year old son has a Frog that weighs half as much as him.

When people are prepared to pay the same as an adults bike for a kids bike.

If you compare it to the equivalent islabike it's 800g heavier but £100 cheaper. The whyte 405 kids bike is a grand but the forks are much better and it has sram gx 11 speed.

403 has caught our attention as well. It looks nicer than the equivalent Islabike, though heavier, and I think I can square the cost in my head if pocket money, Santa, and recycling the lads Beinn to his sister comes off.

The 405 looks great, but that extra £400 is a touch too much. Would like to know where I can get the lad to sit on one in the north west before making a final decision though.

Winstanleys said they would have them in shortly. Keep an eye on the stock level they said. Told me to phone them when it's showing in stock and they'll build one up to try.

DezB - bloody lucky to be possibly having £600 spent on them never mind a grand

All looks good except for the ****ing gripshift.
I have 2 children, and I have spent the last 15 years taking primary school age mountain biking.
I have never met a child that couldn't use trigger style shifters, but I have seen plenty that have struggled with gripshit, including my own.

I refuse to believe that any bike company that specs that sort of evil on a child's bike knows what they are talking about. They are just wrong! 😀

And surely they could stretch to 9 speed these days??

The equivalent orbea is only £65 cheaper than the whyte, has a coil fork and they don't list the weight (read heavy)?

What's your point...

Options by dear boy. Options. I didn't say a good option but an option never the less.
