Last year I reduced the bike pile by consolidating my roadbike and CX bike into a single item resulting in an OO Pickenflick in place of my Litespeed/Croix de Fer. I've just changed the wheels to some nice CK R45 Discs which I managed to bag secondhand...but, am not so sure now that they're on the bike...they look a little, well, flashy for want of a better word...I'm normally a big fan of subtle with no logos etc (hence the frame and wheels) but....

Have a butchers and hit me with the truth...

I assume those are the "before" photos? They just look like wheels to me.

Isn't this just "I've got a beautiful bike" type showing off? 🙂

They're pretty subtle Imo. Once the hubs are covered in mud you won't be able to tell the difference between those and some cheap oem wheels 😉

Edit - nicer bike though 🙂

I changed the saddle and bar tape as, with red hubs and brown tape, it looked like a toilet bowl after eating too much beetroot.

Que'? I don't get what you are sayin'.

Your bike looks ace with the new wheels on, betterer than with the "old" ones on.

Looks really nice bike, big tyres too.. just go enjoy it will ya's. 🙄

That's not flashy. Have a word with yourself.

If it were mine I'd be looking to add a few red bits of highlight. But then I've got no taste. My bikes look like scummy chavs dripping in Elizabeth Duke jewellery. Think blinged up Jeremy Kyle.

Pehaps a better word would have been understated. that was more the look I was going for...as opposed to something like this:

...which I think may be a Cannondale...

Needs ligher deep section carbon rims. You're not bling enough! I was assuming your new wheels would add the road-bikeiness that the old wheels and big tyres sapped away to give a genuine twofer. Oh and some 25c veloflex open paves or Schwalbe Ones to add to the proper road bike look and feel.
