Good Morning Folks

Looking to upgrade the wheels on my gravel bike (currently Giant PX2), the HUNT wheels look good but a bit pricey, does anyone have any other recommendations?

thanks

I recently bought some Prime Race wheels for £170. Only used on road so far so cannot recommend them as yet but at the price they are hard to ignore

I recently had a set made for my Vaya with new Hope pro 4 hubs from merlin cycles £170 , set of WTB Sti TCS rims £17 from Planet X , lbs made them for £50 including the dB spokes. Good light and bombproof wheels and the hubs are easily maintained with great Hope customer service as a bonus.

Is that £237 for the pair?

I'm currently pricing up a wheelset for my Tripster AT.

I make it £237 the pair . That does seem like a tempting option...

I went for Novatec hubs from Ali Express (£60), Pacenti CL25 rims from Planet X (£40) local builder with dB spokes £60. Way lighter than my previous set.

Just like Fudge, I've got Hope hubs with WTB STi TCS rims. Running tubeless with WTB nanos. I don't think I could better them for the money.

I looked at Merlin Cycles. A new shop (to me).

They didn't have listed, not that I could see, centrelock, 12mm thru axle, 100 front, 142 rear, 11 speed.

Drnosh you’ll have to run with 6 bolt rotors on the hope pro 4 hubs

Got some of the Prime 700c disc wheels off CRC, pretty light too, but not used that much so far but seem good. Though those Hope/PX builds sound good too.

Due to cost cutting measures I also got a set of prime road race disc for £169. Come tubeless ready with adaptors for thru axle or qr and made my first foray into tubeless pretty seamless. Done maybe 150miles with 43c gravelkings on them so far on pretty tough terrain and they’ve held up well, light and stiff enough on the road too.

That being said if I had known I could get those hope hand mades for under £250 I would have gone down that route (get some nice colour hubs 😉).

@fudge9092

Do the 6 bolt rotors still sit in the same centreline position between the pads or is some spacing to offset L or R required.

I currently have a 140mm disc fitted, so I expect that diameter will have to be maintained.

I can't see Planet X listing any rims at all at the moment (or is it me again?!)
