Hi all

I’ve finally managed to replace my old bike with a shiny new-ish one. Something suitable as a do-it-all bike for my return to riding. I’ve followed the previous advice given on here and ended up with this little beauty.

Per STWs advice on my previous threads I went hardtail, fairly new but not brand new, pretty aggressive geometry, and to keep it in budget it has a great frame, forks and wheel set with scope to upgrade the groupset/brakes/finishing kit/add a dropper at a later date when the boss allows me to spend more on a toy - her valid point is that until I prove I’m going to use it, there’s little point in spending mega bucks.

Massive thanks to RichT for sorting me out with this one, and being flexible to match the budget.

So here it is (hopefully - first attempt at uploading images with imgur).

Should fit the bill nicely. It’s an orange P7 29er, Fox Rhythm 34s, Mavic XA Elite wheels, 1x 10 30t RaceFace chainring on RaceFace Affect cranks with Sunrace 11-40t cassette, Hope BB, Alpkit bars and stem, Deore brakes and rear mech with SLX shifter. Found some old alloy flat pedals with reflectors in (a cheap dmr v12 copy) in the garage so will chuck those on for now, then get something a bit sexier and a dropper in a few months once I’ve proven it’s getting used.

Whatcha think?

Rick

Like it. Your recycling needs to go out though.

It needs that dropper and a black saddle. Lovely frame though, like it.

What fragrance are you running in your sticks in a jar thing?

Nice bike that.

Were the wheel graphics deliberately colour coordinated with the hosepipe?

Lovely bike! I've been thinking about new bikes recently and a P7 29er would be pretty much top of the list. Let us know how it rides

Honourablegeorge - completely agree. It did have a black saddle and dropper but budget constraints meant I couldn’t afford it (I went £150 over budget as it is). Rich kindly took it off and found a spare post and saddle for me so I could still afford the bike, but it does look the dogs danglies with black saddle and dropper. Something for my Xmas list if not sooner.

The rest of you, keep the home improvement suggestions coming; putting a smile on my face for sure whilst having a tough work day

You've very neatly mown your dandelions, I must say. Get that post and saddle off and you'll have a belter there
