You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
For notification there is now an uplift service running at Glentress. This has just started and they are running it to see how much interest there will be.
ideal if you are taking kids and want to finish your day by doing the run down from Buzzards Nest car park.
£3 per person, cash only.
Is it to Buzzards Nest only?
Yes that’s what he said. Not sure if you could negotiate higher or if he is permitted
Can you still drive to Buzzard's Nest?
Sounds a bit pointless, a proper big uplift to the mast or even the top of spooky would probably work, but don't think it'll ever happen.
It's kind of like the old laggan uplift isn't it? The run down from the buzzard's nest is fantastic though and I quite like the idea of just getting a few more runs in- I've spent the entire day on demo days just doing that lap.

Yeah up to Buzzards is a bit pointless. You can drive up there yourself anyway. There is a a decent fireroad all the away up to the mast not sure why they couldn't run an uplift up it.
I think I'd get bored doing Good Game after the 2nd go.
I suppose you could mix it up an bit and do Zoom or Bust / Buzzard Horse / the Fort but there are a lot more options if you start further up
the blue climb is great though
"the blue climb is great though"
If its got climb in the name, its unlikely to be great
Price-wise that's not far off a day's uplifts at Inners no?
I could see myself using this for a end of the day blast down with my kids but struggle to see how it becomes commercially viable. Good luck to them though.

Not so sure about that, from Buzzards the next bit is pretty steep (difficult to cycle up) then the bit where it goes into the trees by the Spooky turn off has a fair few deep ditches and the last bit up to the mast is steep, tight and rocky. It'd need to get to the mast to get turned towing a trailer I'd think too. The picture of the vehicle was a large, twin axle transit, suspect that fire road would really need a 4x4 to get up there safely.
Would be nice if they could work something out though.
the blue climb is great though
It is, feels effortless in places
The cost is now £4 and it goes to Buzzards nest only. However, they are in discussions with The Forestry Commission to extend further, initially to the bottom of the Spooky Wood climb and maybe the Mast. I’d welcome that as it could extend my day’s biking.
I used it yesterday - Thought £4 was a bit much TBH but saved me 2x40 mins climbs when I was limited for time.
Can't see them driving up to the mast or even the bottom of spooky climb though.
I'd doubt it's a time saver tbh, like the old one at laggan as mentioned above, by the time you get all the bikes loaded and drive up...
It's only 20 minutes going up janets brae to BN, which is further than from peel. Obviously take abit longer going up the singletrack climb, but if yer pushed you'd just hoof it up the fire road.
As above, you can get double figure runs at inners which works out cheaper than that and is a hell of a lot better.
Best of luck to them though, there's definitely scope for development at GT, and a viable uplift that has access to as high and many trails as possible would be great.
Janets brae uplift would be alright.
Why you'd ever choise it over the climb to buzzards i don't know!
I didn’t know about this till I read the thread but I think that the posters on here might not be the target audience.
For you the climb might be easy enough but a family just out for a day biking might love 3 or 4 runs up in the bus and then a session at GoApe. Or a stag do that’s had a heavy night previously might fancy it. Or when you just fancy one more blast down but don’t have the kegs for another climb.
And then there’s all the folk that don’t want a more Gnarr uplift like Inners but just want to get lots of fast downhills in.
Goodluck to them.
Or when you just fancy one more blast down but don’t have the kegs for another climb.
You change your kegs before every climb?
I’d doubt it’s a time saver tbh
It was yesterday. Didn’t have to wait for the bus to come or leave. Put bike on, sat down and we left. It’s great for unfit oldies like me 🙂
Ideal for families and kids, especially later in the day after lunch.

I guess it comes down to whether or not that's enough folk to make it a viable business. A 33% increase in price so soon after launch means I have my doubts.

I cant see a chance of that happening as the road is the trail in places there.
The road is also the trail at Laggan.

The road is part of the route but not part of any trails

The inners uplift runs a long stretch where a lot of the enduro trails run too. It's not uncommon drivers just need to be reminded on how to deal with it
All valid points but you won’t see the same numbers on the road, and certainly not the same numbers of kids/families, as you see at Gt. I don’t think they’d let it run. Laggan hasn't run in many years iirc?

Strong pedant game there
