I need to change my tyres on my condor road bike. Considerable flats on them especially the rear and getting the odd puncture. Currently I have schwalbe Laguna which have been ok. I want to replace with a fairly fast running tyre but have some puncture resistance, any suggestions?

Conti GP4000 seems to be the default answer but they've recently been superseded by the GP5000

I actually run Gatorskins for crap Surrey potholed roads but by all accounts they are a bit slower and less grippy

I swapped out Schwalbe Luganos a few months back andmout on Conti GP4000’s that I got from CRC that seemed a good price. Both tyres are 25c and the Conti’s roll faster, look slightly bigger, went on the rim ok ish (I’ve got Hunt tubeless compatible rims so all tyres are a little bit of a fight) and haven’t had a single puncture so far.

Win / Win really at this stage.

For value and grip in all conditions I think Specialized Roubaix pro are hard to beat. They roll ok too, just not quite as fast as some others. Good puncture protection too.

Thanks chaps
Used GP4000s before and they are fast but not much puncture resistance

Continental Grand Prix - I liked the set I ran on my winter bike like the 400 but with some puncture protection.

I like Schwalbe Ones but the GP4000 price is now very good since they’ve been replaced. Lugano aren’t bad but any of the others will feel like an improvement.

I have Conti GTs on my road bike which is used for 90% commuting. Black Chili but with added puncture resistance. Billed as a tougher GP4000

Schwalbe Durano and Michelin Krylion 2 (previously badged Pro4 Endurance) strike a good balance between suppleness and keeping the p-fairy away.

I live in a area where we get loads of flint shards on the road. I've tried loads of difference tyres and I have found Michelin Pro 4 Endurance to be very good.

Good results for me from the Specialized S Works Turbo (the normal one, not the cotton-cased one). Much more frequent punctures after switching to Conti GP 4000 sII, which I now regret.

I have these on my winter bike too, got a pair for review and loved them, so have willingly paid for another pair.

Just the right balance of weight, grip & durability for me - as a reasonably smooth rider.

Can you run tubeless if so, then have been impressed both with the Schwalbe G-One Speed and Specaliazed Roubaix Pro set up tubeless. (got the Roubaix up fine tubeless on non-tubeless rims too).

if not then i find Conti 4 Seasons quite a good compromise between speed and puncture resistance
