I'm gearing get up for the Bolton IM and looking for a dedicated Tri bike, I've been using my Canyon Aeroad for shorter Tri's at the moment but think I'll take the plunge and start getting used to a proper Tri bike

So does it need to be UCI legal ?

Budget is about £5000

I'm thinking Canyon Speedmax at the moment (love my Aeroad) but as I'm new to to Tri bikes should I consider anything else or are the much of a muchness ?

I also notice that the Speedmax is UCI legal but offers a non UCI legal seatpost at at a steeper angle, not sure what difference that makes ?

No, it's a non-drafting race so anything goes. Given the course though you might not want to ride a TT bike, I did and think I'd go with a std road bike + tri bars if I did it again...

UCI rules don't apply* to triathlon's so crack on

Indeed, hence there's a Specialized Shiv Triathlon, and you can bolt extra bits onto the Trek Speed Concept to make it faster for triathlons.
