Oooh! Looks nice.
Like!
My last 2 bikes have been Transitions. The most fun on bikes I have ever had.
I saw a comment on here last week where someone said the Scout looked boring.
It is always the quiet ones that need to look out for isn't it?

LoL yes mate agrees! I do love my Transition, just a hoot to ride. I hope the bring back "Safety Orange" as a colour when I'm bike shopping again in the far far future!!!
Saw it this morning, its certainly a model missing from their line up. Not my choice of wheels though.
Just noticed that their web sire is currently down.
I guess that's either frenzied activity to find the new bike or a web site update with the new stuff.
Exciting times for long travel 29ers with this, whyte, new Orbea Rallon etc
Nothing in the web page!!
Wonder if it'll take b+ wheels too ?
Hopefully not lol
Press release 29th of June according to the ( always reliable) internet!!!

Aye, lots of companies have thoroughly caught up with 2014 😆
Not sure how you go on dropping the seat post or do you only size with 100, 125, 150, 170 seatpost?

Now to wait for the new models to be announced
Shorter offset and longer frames, kona have been leading that for years
More infor here looks like a 15-20mm extra on the reach? Makes the XL come in at about 500mm reach wise, really I treated to see the new bikes!
those 'leaked' spyshots all seem a bit contrived to me...
not that im complaining sounds good from the PB article
The geometry is certainly different and the claim about the shorter offset having the same stability benefit as longer chainstays is intriguing.
Definitely one I'd like to try.
Doesn't mention rear ravel does it? I'll take a stab at 140mm.
Really fancy one to replace the smuggler, 140 ish rear and 150/160 front would be perfect!
Also steeper seat angle.....all sounds good
Intrigued by the promo video, like Lars I'll admit I don't fully grasp the fork offset thing - but I'm keen to give it a go...
I'm Really excited to see this bike now!

Ditto, had a car park ride on a Trek Fuel EX and was a little dissapointed, the size on paper didn't translate to the real world size. Keeping my smuggler and looking for a bigger stablemate (to replace my Reign)
that's some beast of a bike!
Sir HC - MemberLars Stenberg confirmed it as 160f/140r:
Do like a mismatched travel bike, makes so much sense to me.

Ditto. 160/140 on the Spitfire works so well - and before I slacked the front out to ~64 deg I'd have said the fork was still the limiting factor in the rough.
I have a few theories on the balance of stability vs manoeuvrability with bikes - I think you've basically got four different factors:
1. Steering stability (dominant factor is the trail figure)
2. Rear centre stability
3. Wheelbase stability
4. BB drop stability
They all interact to a degree but how you ride the bike (and how the suspension and wheels behave) will affect how you perceive the pros and cons of each.
I think I prefer much of the bikes inherent stability to come from the steering, whilst keeping the other factors more moderate. This lets me ride the bike more from the hips and I don't care that the steering may seem heavy or prone to wandering uphill.
This Sentinel looks like a bloody awesome bike!
I does look great. I was just about to push the button on a Cotic Rocket Max but this has me re-thinking. Though at 160mm up front it sounds a bit of a big bike, even for me who thinks you may as well have too much than too little. I worry that being so long, so low and so slack, it has gone a bit overboard and lost some of that 'jack of all trades',one bike quiver killer, sweet spot that something like the Rocket and other similar bikes seem to have hit quite well.
I'd like to ride one first but I've been told unless you get in quick and pre-order one now-ish, you're likely to miss the first batch for October time. I might just hang fire for now and see if it lives upto the promises.

So far they've only released the geometry for the Medium sentinel. Comparing it to a medium patrol, its 18mm longer in reach and 37mm longer in wheelbase, the chainstays are 6mm longer, but the reduced offset brings the front in. For reference Trek slash wheelbase is 1219mm in large and 1247 in xl, enduro in large is 1205 and xl is 1231. So sentinel is very comparable
As far as a one bike quiver killer, really depends where you are riding! Slack/long bikes in tight twisty trees will always be a challenge, enduros/slashes/etc were made for enduro racing and big mountain riding, not pootling round a trail centre
I have a smuggler and reign, smuggler gets ridden the most (FOD, Shropshire, peaks). Will be slackening it out by -1 and upping the fork travel from 140 to 150mm for upcoming trips to scotland and italy, reign will be sold as it seldom gets ridden (bit short on reach and the smuggler is faster and more involving). Sentinel will be a good 'holiday' or big bike day bike (Revs, alps, scotland, etc)
This bike will rip! Personally I prefer 650b so will be getting an sbg patrol for big hit trails.
Anyone ridden a sentinel yet?
all is want for Christmas is a carbon 2018 smuggler

Got a frame and fork on order but the frames seem to be late arriving seems to be a few bikes kicking around so someone must have one by now.
Slam69 have a medium full bike in the showroom and I have to say it’s stunning! Tempted with a frame only build after Christmas
Anyone ridden a sentinel yet?
Yes, I demoed a GX Eagle build at the factory in Bellingham, WA.
Unfortunately, there was heavy snow on the local trails (Galbraith mountain) so the only thing I actually learned was that it's pretty heavy (34.2lb inc XT pedals for an XL) and that it handles tight and twisty uphill climbs way better than a 64°HA would suggest.
Obviously, this bike is designed to enjoy the descents but (a) snow loaded trees blocking the trail and (b) lack of riding DH on anything remotely steep means I can't draw any conclusions at this time.
It's still in my short list but I have other bikes to try first. The guys at the factory confirmed what others have said in that the first couple of batches of bikes are already sold out and it's likely Feb before they have anything available. (That doesn't mean all shops have sold out of all sizes, BTW)
Luckily for me, the factory is only a couple of hours drive away from me so I could buy direct from them if needed...
34.2lbs doesnt make me feel so bad about my 153 29 !
A big rough tough 29er with a sturdy alu frame and no nonsense build will be heavy by comparison to some other bikes but some of those other bikes won't have the same steamroller downhill approach either. There's lots of choice right now depending on what you are after!
Velobikes in Ulverston have a Large NX complete in stock in the TR Blue, and it looks good, Can't wait for my Frameset and GX build kit to arrive (1st week in December I'm told.
Bike shop had a couple of Sentinels being built along with a Patrol frame. Really nice frames with clever details, but staggering heavy (Patrol was a tank-like 4.2kg).
Hopefully the new Smuggler hasn't been beefed up in the same way.
