I've just seen through the MBR website that some new trails may be built in the Elan valley. This is surely only a good thing, as I like riding the natural trails round there, and this could just add a bit of variety. Link
Does anyone have any more info about whats happening?

Another Back On Track project, they must be busy! Saw some new stuff they're building at CYB a few days ago.

Yeah, pretty much the same info, I guess we'll just have to wait for more news.

If it follows the same sort of path as other projects it'll be about 2 years from acceptance to opening. Be good though, especially as a half-way stop between SWales and NWales.

this is great. Both times I've been to stay there its been too wet to ride properly, so some well drained tracks will be ace.

What's the existing green trail? Anyone got a link or location?

The existing green trail is the cycle path that follows the old railway track to the top dam.

It's more of a family/walking path but a good linking track on big rides around the valley without using the roads

Good to see the Elan Valley Trust are still active, I've met a few of them previously, there keen to bring in more tourism to the area and have been behind the two local bothies with a view to increasing traffic along the Cambrian way.

I don't imagine it'll take to long to get going as they have good links with local landowners.
