Has anybody else seen the news Fireline and wondered why it has a cheaper spec when compared to the Loco Moto at the same price point? I’m not looking to buy but if I were it would put me off. No reverb and a fork that received some pretty negative press on release.

Is it just Planet X spec roulette? The frame looks lovely. Anybody seen one in the flesh?

I had the previous version and was quite underwhelmed by it. This one is obviously not the same but there no details of the frame geometry on their website.

Anybody bought one yet?
Was thinking of a Sonder Signal Ti but it is out of stock.
Fireline looks decent apart from no dropper option and tyres.

Geometry looks similar but weirdly different to the Scandal, unless someone's just messed arround with the wheel sizes in CAD and not taken like for like numbers?

Same head angle, 10mm shorter reach, 7mm lower BB etc.

Unless Titanium is a must have feature "just because", in which case it looks great. But I'd get the Scandal. Same weight and £900 cheaper. £900 buys you a lot of dropper post and tyres (and carbon wheels, bars, pimp stem, etc).

I really fancy Ti Hello Dave, but that's mostly for the weight, if they did an aluminium one I'd be all over it.

Is it really the same weight as the scandal frame?

That's on the hefty side for an aluminium frame anyway iirc.

So unless you have a serious ti fetish, I'd look at steel or alu frames instead.

No idea, they don't list a weight for either (that I can see). I was basing that on most Ti frames tending to be arround the same or heavier than their Aluminium cousisns. So probably cose enough that you'd not notice unless it was on some scales. Unlike steel where you're giving up a noticeable amount, or carbon where you can save it.

There was a weight for the scandal frame when it was launched, I remember losing interest because it was around the same as the Solaris frame I already had.

I guess people really buy ti for the shininess, rather than the weight though.

I think medium Scandal is tad over 2kg. Solaris in large 2.6kg. So roughly 500g more. Enough to make a difference, particularly if you managed to pick up a Scandal frame when they were cheap.
