I'm after some 4 pot brakes for the alps trip this year - the SLX's can be had for around £160 a pair. Zee's seem to be more expensive. What's the difference, I know SLX are more of a trail brake and Zee's are downhill orientated - but other than that should the braking power be about the same?
I'd say they'd be essentially the same brake with very minor differences. SLX a newer, lighter brake though.

Don't forget there's also the "deore" MT501 which is basically the same again for ~£110/pair, or considerably less if you have some shimano levers you can re-use and just buy the calipers.
