Hi, got some new forks, WWSTWD?
Drop the lower legs and add 5ml or 15wt oil in from new?

Probably depends where you buy them from.

Likes of Chain Reaction/Tredz etc, I'd drop the lowers and check the oil. The Pikes that came on my Hightower from Stif were well oiled (as I found out when I dropped the lowers).

Some of the suspension places take them apart to check oil etc before shipping.

Unless they’ve come from a fork specialist who’s done it, do it yourself. Can’t hurt to give them a check even if they are well lubed it’s such a quick job.

Update - 10min job revealed they had a good quantity of oil. Seals were a bit dry of grease, so added a smear of Stendec and reoiled up. No harm done and now at least I know.

Much better to drop the lowers and be sure than run them dry and abrade the stanchion coating.
