Working in Whitehaven during the week and just started to delve into the dark side so looking to get some miles under my belt.
Could anyone recommend some road rides which I could complete on an evening, max time probably 2 1/2 to 3 hours

Join up with Honister 92 - local club.
WH, Cleator Moor, cross river at Wath Brow, Ennerdale Bridge, Kirkland, right up to Kelton Fell, Lamplugh, Loweswater, Buttermere, Newlands, Whinlatter, Loweswater and retrace route.
Can miss the passes and go Loweswater to Lorton, then cut across to Dean, Ullock, Pica, Moresby.
Avoid the A 5086.
Or
Head south. - StBees, Beckermet, Seascale, Holmrook, Eskdale, Ravenglass and back on main road
Or
From Holmrook, head to Santon Bridge and back through Gosforth or via Wasdale.
The fell roads from Ennerdale Bridge to Calder Bridge are popular (avoid Sellafield shift changes though)
