Should i buy this:BMC roadracer SL01Frameset.

Or this: Van NIcholas Euros Titanium Frame.

Impossible to say much without having ridden them!

They could be very different to ride. BMC = current but will be outdated one day, VN = pretty timeless ti frame.

Just picked up my new Starley frame, forks, post, stem and bars today. Very impressed with the service and the bike fitting too. Well worth looking into.

Titanium is classy. It has the added advantage of not clashing with your extensive cycling wardrobe. 🙂

One's a high end race frame, the other's a Ti frame designed for more winter miles and sportives.

Titanium is classy.

Chinese/ Russian plain gauge Ti isn't, nor are the cheaper butted ones.

moots, eriksen, paduano, Baum etc yes. van Nicholas Definately not.

It all about affordablilty isnt it. I would dearly love one of the frames you mention Mr Smith but my Sabbath, which is no doubt inferior and produced in China using Russian plain gauge still looks and feels good enough for me.

Until that elusive lottery win anyway........

Both at different ends of the spectrum really.
My experience of BMCs is that they are VERY stiff which is presumably the opposite effect the Van Nic is trying to give.

If you want a direct, fast but possibly harsh ride try the BMC, for a more relaxed smooth ride go the Van Nic.

Just my opinion obviously. Just get the one you want to get out the shed and ride the most.

BMC voted for here, i am coming round to the idea that you should pick the most aero possible frame. no real downside unless all you do is climb alp d'huez

That VN frame looks bland ( says VN owner ).

Needs more detail

I assume that you're very short? As that bmc frame is only available in 48 and 51.
My so has a VN Eurus and its very nice, built up with Chorus 11 and TA cranks and weighs just over 16lbs.

Probably a bit unfashionable to ask, but what sort of cycling do you do? Sportive, Race, nice long jaunt into the countryside?

As a former Ti bike owner, looking to replace, you have chosen two VERY different frames. Stiff bikes are great, for some things. Long distance cruising is not one of them. Softer frames (and my Ti frame was) are great, but I would not have raced on it.

To be honest I'd get Ror's TCR Advanced SL if it fits. It's a better frame than both. And I have an alloy version that (ride wise) was a step up from my Merlin.

No one's disputed that it's not 'good', but it's not classy.

The TCR sounds good, but if the BMC is only available in 48 and 51, then one or t'other won't fit...

As above though, different bikes, so depends what you're after.
