Going to rebuild my wheels and after some new rims in the 'all mountain' category. Coming off sun singletracks and wanted something a bit lighter but still with a decent profile that can take a bit of abuse and won't break the bank. What's about these days as not bought new rims for years? Head says Mavic, but which model, stans offer easy tubeless but are they pretty pricy?

What's your budget?

Mavic have a new UST rim with ISM (material removed between spokes) which looks awesome.

Stan's are a bit pricey rim-only, yeah.

Superstar's newer design looks promising...

As do these Spanks

Don't want to break the bank, just something solid with the option of tubeless at a later date hence leaning towards mavic.

The new 821 is looking pretty impressive, best rim Mavic have released for years (this is not hard). Stans are usually expensive standalone but to be fair, not more expensive than the 821.

Having tried some more budget rims I've gone stans on every wheel now, I'd save up and get some flow ex, they just do the job really well and make tubeless a doddle.

Been looking for Stans Flows but cannot seem to find any anywhere, LBS checked and none available until end of Feb! - any clues as to the whereabouts of any?

Also interested in WTB frequency i-25 but again cannot seem to find in stock online in the 26'.

Don't know much about the Spank rims.

Want to stay away from Superstar.

Mavic seem a little narrow unless you want a weight penalty.

Any other ideas?
