Tried searching this forum but advice dated. So what are your current favourites for a packable MTB mini pump?
er...read the latest issue of the mag?
How mini? Pocketable? Camelbak?
I figure, the difference in size and weight between an irritatingly small rucksack pump, and a totally brilliant one, is very small. So I've got a Truflo Minitrak, which is a wee bit bulkier but inflates tyres so much faster. Best pump I've used- better than a mountain morph or the lezyne equivalent- and not even all that expensive.
By mini I Mean camelback. Haven't read STW thanks, but will take a look.
I have one of the On-one Phaarts.
Very cheap and works very, very well.
I have used this one on mountain bike tyres and road tyres - many smaller pumps don't get on well with the higher pressure in road tyres.
I can't really see the extra value in some of the pumps in the magazine test, since the on one's are so cheap!
Feel free to say you get what you pay for etc.........
Just bought a mini birzman off xcracer site, very impressive, the value fitting actually screws on.
Thanks for the replies. The Birzman mini pump looks a good design. I was looking at a flexible hose option as there's more "give" when inflating a tyre. Do you think the Birzman is better than the Lezyne Tech Drive?
Topeak, mini or mountain morph. Like mini track pumps with a hose.
I've got a brand new one of these for sale, unwanted prize still attached to its card packaging
I had a lezyne micro floor drive and whilst it looks fab, didn't get on with it... Now I have a topeak race rocket which is great even with 29er wheels, also has a flexible tube and fits snug in my small camel back...
Not sure about these "upside down" inflation pumps, as the static handle looks too short for large hands and liable to "nip" you in your effort to inflate! Anyone experience this?
Lezyne Pressure Drive CFH - great pump with flex hose that also acts as a co2 inflator.
Blackburn mountain air, bit big but good.
I've been very happy with my Lezyne. Can't remember the model, it's the mini track pump one. Too big to put in your back pocket though, so I've got a Blackburn for the road/cross
I think Lezyne look good. Not sure if I could justify the price tag for the CFH, but the HV models seem simple enough and good value. Thanks.
Bought a fancy looking lezyne with a hose connector. Utter tripe. Kept undoing my valves. Advised to buy a 90deg connector instead, tha lasted about a month due to tiny plastic threads on the pump body. Style over substance in my opinion. Back to the 15yr old Blackburn with nowt wrong with it.
So the jury's out on the Lezyne due to hose connector problems. Any other hose connector pump with a foolproof attachment?
