So what's that.. a re-release of the same idea? Not that it's a bad thing of course.

From previous reports it can take 180mm triple crowns and probably has 180mm at the back too. There have been pics of it with fox 40s.

Maybe it's a typo, but WO are reporting 160mm..

Saw that bike at Fort Bill. 180 front and rear.

160 would be too close to the Alpine. I would think it sits between the Alpine and the 222/322 in terms of intent and travel.

Joe Barnes was racing one in the Inners Winter Series with Fox 40s on the front. Very nice little bike.

Might be wrong, but I think it's pretty slack and low, 180/180 and with a steeper seat tube for better climbing. Sounds like the perfect all-mountin/Alps/fun bike to me, and it looks mint. If only I could break my current Patriot to justify a replacement - just too damn reliable...

How different from the old one then?

Tweaked geometry I guess, possibly a bit lighter? Think it's going to climb better - great for reaching natural trails which are often away from the bike parks, places where you need to do some pedalling. The fewer changes the better, as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, I look at the video and people making a buzz over it and think 'hey, that's my bike, I have one of those!' 🙂

Why not a shock through a pierced downtube like the new 332 though. It still look slike it's got a slightly falling rate, this would solve that.

However, I loved my Patriot. Perhaps this is the next DH bike for me! When they start appearing second hand!

Orange haven't really changed their flagship 'design' since mk1 Patriot... just moving the pivot a centimetre or so forward or up each year...

from what I could see at ft bill; 224 style drop-outs, external hose/cable guides on the swingarm, no adjustable shock shuttle and a touch more length on the wheelbase. didn't notice if it had a tapered headtube, was too busy eyeing up the ccdb air shock

I think the 'tubes' have evolved too. Either that bike is smaller than mine or it's designed for lower standover and probably hence a lower BB.

old mk1 Pats used to break the rear trianble at the rear shock pivot, therefore were not as reliable as some posters would have us believe 🙄
