On every ride on my Stage evo I managed to lose my bottle, can anyone recommend a cage that holds a bottle tight
, cheers
Camel back.
Waist pack with either bladder or squashy bottle.
Bag stashed in a bush at the top of a run you're sessioning.
But an answer the you're actual question, standard Decathlon one has been good for me.
My fidlock bottle seems to stay on my hardtail. Otherwise the standard answer is King Cage or Spesh Zee cage
Having similar issues on my hardtail, Topeak Ninja was useless, wanted it to work as I liked the multi tool stash, the bottle ejected at least once a ride. Replaced with a spesh zee that had been alright on the fs, lost a bottle again yesterday. Ordered a fidlock, if that doesn’t work out I may have to reconsider some of my line choices!!! I also use a hip pack bladder on longer rides, but like just taking a bottle on my shorter rides.
+1 for fidlock here
Can’t fault mine, never comes off
Inch long bit of inner tube as a band around the bottle to hold it in tight?
Unless you are mr tickle I’m guessing you aren’t pulling it out while riding anyway.
Specialized zee cage.
Fidlock. I’ve lost 2 bottles in 2 years. Both replaced for free.
The answer is remarkably old skool. Elite Ciussi, add some grip tape if you so desire.
Could you stash it in one of the drawers?
Dawn to Dusk make some different clamping force cages for different locations on the bike, including one for under the downtube where it looks like your bottle bosses are.
Buy some knicker elastic and tie it around the downtube. This will hold the bottle in place and make it less likely to jump out. A simple factor to take out as i expect you wont be doing it while riding technical trails.
Alternatively a camelback..

I’m struggling to see premature ejection as a great selling point
Fidlock, havent had mine bounce off anything yet
I use this hack from Joe Barnes and it works really well. Probably best to not bother with the moto foam though.
Cheap metal one, bend it a bit.
Outstanding response by kayak
I have had a charge one for the last few years and have never lost a bottle.
I've got one of the eXotic carbon ones on a hardtail and haven't lost a bottle yet. I think my small camelback bottle probably helps.
