Evening all.

I'm like a kid at Christmas at the moment as a personal project that has taken 2 years, has now reached its finale (more or less). As you might expect, I'm quite excited and want to show it off!

The frame was my first ever mountain bike - a 1997 Kona Cinder Cone - and it has been rehashed using modern parts to breath a new lease of life into it, including some Fox Floats reduced to 100mm and run quite soft. I had some modifications made at Argos Cycles (disc tab, hose guides etc) and it was powder coated by Griff's Reality Motorworks in Bristol. Everything else with the odd exception were items that were cluttering up my garage but still had plenty of use left in them. The only thing left to do it get hold of the correct sticker and then get muddy!

Initial impressions from just spinning around the road are damn this thing's quick. Especially in comparison to my full susser. I'm very happy. 🙂

Enjoy!

That's very nice - 100mm forks?

I had Argos add a disc tab to my Caldera. They made it look factory fresh.

It's just going through a rebuild now.

Mine prior to rebuild:

I don't think you remember Mark, but I was in touch with you about a year ago - the rehash is actually partially your fault! I've just PM'd you on retrobike.

Yes, Fox Float 32s reduced to 100mm and run soft. Feels fast, very, very fast!
