Actually had it a while but the new decals, (Indibike, good quality and very helpful) went on last night which was the finishing touch. Lots of original components, with new finishing kit, I especially like the braced moto handlebars. Ridden to work today, has a decent turn of speed. Anyone care to tell me what year exactly this might be?

Oh hello!
I love that red. And P7's.
And I owned a blue Clockwork and mrs_oab a lime coloured C16r from that period. 😎
Edit: my Clockwork was I think '97, fairly sure mrs_oab's C16r was '99, and I think those forks were replaced with disc fork around 2001? So I think that is a '97-'99 era.
What's the headset size? Very nice tho' 🙂
What’s the headset size?
1 1/8th.
I think it's a bit earlier than 1997 Matt OAB. The first set of decals I purchased were supposed to be 96 to 98 and they were too big for the skinny tubes. Had to have a second set made to a smaller scale.
Hmm, having said that, I just found an image supposedly of a 96 one with the brakes on the back of the fork, but they were unicrown, not segmented.
Retro bike throws up the right colour in 1998. Can't see a rigid fork that colour though.

It also throws up a unicrown fork in 1999/2000....
Think you've got the answers, late 90's. Great Bike !
I have a lovely early 90's Tange CroMo Diamond Back. Refurbed it a fair bit last winter and it's my commuter now as it has all the pannier mounts etc. I've owned it since new and is on the second re-paint.
I'd say earlier more 95 96 than 98...
Retrobike boys will give you the year, month date and the welders name....
