Forks started acting up on my bfe last saturday, trying to run singlespeed was giving me hassle and I couldnt be bothered putting gears back on it. Bought this frame and some other bits from Ross of here (good guy deal with) on Sunday, built it up and it feels alrite. Fairly light, might get lighter wheels for it. Probably to much bike for the Lakes but **** it, you only live once.

ha, I dont know whether I can be bothered taking it off road. I might just use it for bombing round town on.

Thats those pipedream forks by the way, seem good for £50. Havent ridden them yet though.....

Its a large, so its alrite for pedalling on. But the best bit about the Cotics is the big frames still ride like a little bike (sort of)

With the seat down, my large bfe was great on the GT freeride park thing last year. Hopefullly this'll be the same. It may end up with some suspension at some point though.

Nice. My mate has one of the last ones, in Orange. Sadly not with proper forks on, like yours.

I dont know how to bleed hope brakes, do I need anything special, or will a syringe and mineral oil do?

Mineral oil for Hope brakes? In a word, no.

I might just remove them and send them to Hope for a service and ask them to cut the hoses.

I used to have the motivation to service bike bits myself, now I cant be arsed.

Hence the rigid singlespeed.

Might get some brake bosses welded on and run it with some old canitlevers.

I'll end up with a penny farthing.

Rode it yesterday (not off road though)

It is awesome, feels a bit like a big bmx. And its silent. And climbing up hills out of the saddle is brilliant with those rigid forks.

The only problem is I cant fully slam the saddle due to the bottlw bosses. Does anyone have any experience with removing these from a steel frame?
