Apologies if this has been asked before, but I'm overwheled by the amount of results on mavic when searching the forum :/
Just upgrading the fork to a Manitou Mattoc, which is boost, so had to order a new front wheel and Mavic Crossride 27.5 / 110x15 mm was on offer.
The wheel fits perfectly the fork and brake/disc, but I don't have experience of through axles and boost, so have a few doubts / reservations:
1. the hub is boost (the disc aligns correctly) but it has 2 yellow adapters (5mm) on each side. Why??? Surely the wheel won't fit a non boost for, as the disc would rub the fork legs? So why not just have a wide axle?
Most annoyingly, these adapters are just pressed in... no grub to hold them. It seems to me they could easily pop off: I need to take the wheel off to get the bike in the car and I'm worried I'll kock 'em and loose them...
2. I need to fiddle a bit to slot the wheel in the fork... it fits a little tight, so almost have to try "pull" the legs a part? Is that normal? Does it just a little practice?
Those spacers seems bad design to me, so not sure whether to return it and go for another wheel?
Many many thank for any advice.
