*its a new build rather than a new HT 😆

In short ...

Ive owned the frame since its purchase in December 1998.

Its been trough oodles of iterations, as money, bandwagons have changes etc.

With an almost complete move to 29ers now (see first bandwagon mention) I had a plethora of 26'' parts left over.

I'm never going to part with the frame so thought I would rebuild it.

Build is mainly from my Soul but with the forks spaced to 90mm.

The frame has been modified to take a disc with hose guides added. As these are not being used (BB&s using original routing) the plan is to ream out the ST to 27.2 from 27.0 to take a dropper post (bandwagon already boarded).

So I guess flame away 😆

Very nice. I like the random 60s sea-wall defence you have in your garden, planning for global warming?

@ wwaswas - Funnily I did think of you when taking them 😳

Strangely not grown a bit since 1998! The frame is a 19'' so second largest Kona made in these 😯 Seat post may be a little higher than needed but not much.

Glad folk like my gardening attention to detail - RCFS here I come 😆

@ Normal Man - my favorite "non lockon" grip. 8)

Cool.

I have a pair on my retro (1990, owned since new) Fisher Celerity, which has lived through various guises but now is a singlespeed. Although now also in dire need of a headset rebuild!

My modern bike is a Camber Expert and as I put it away post-ride yesterday I thought of ditching the lock on's for the set of Odi's I have spare in the garage. I got distracted and didn't but might just do that later now!

Nobby Nic on the back and Racing Ralph on the front?

What mods did you have to do to get a rear disk mount?

Nice one once again Mark. Good luck with increasing the diameter of the seat tube. If it's anything like my Cinder Cone, the tube walls are pretty damn thin in the first place.

Very nice- where did you get the disc mounts and hose guides welded on? How much was it?

I quite like the rockery, although i'm a shrubbery kind of bloke 😉

0.2mm should be doable as similar era Kona frames ran 27.2mm posts.

Argos seemed happy that it would be fine. That said not sure even the longest GD post would be long enough!

Argos did all the alteration work .... Canti tab removal, disc tab, brace, hose guides, paint. It was a coupe of years ago an about £180 all in.

Rockery houses the herbs 😆

Sonor .... Unconventional I know but seems to work. I made an error when I bought the RR buying the 2.4 instead of the 2.25 so just gave it a bash 🙂
