Yes I should add that it's an early prototype...

Any ideas of target weights, intended use e.t.c They look nice but a bit heavy in comparison to a set of XT/XTR cranks that I'd use otherwise.

They look like Race Face Diabolous cranks or something similarly chunky to me, but with HTII-style pinch bolts on the non-drive side.

Look very nice for a prototype.

Now, about these persistent rumours of a Hope derailleur being in the pipeline....

They aren't Middleburn so they'll be affordable.

If you look in the reflection in the pic there is a chainring top right.

I will be interested to see the weight on those - there does seem to be a fair bit of material machined out from the rear of the arm.

Quite happily use more UK produced parts.

Mmm, lusted after some RS7s for I don't know how long (certainly 5+ years)

When the economy burned and the Yen / £ made Shimano so expensive I got cranks / rings off CRC for XT money 😀

They look great - perfect Hope slightly industrial style. If they were SLX/XT'ish money/weight I'd have them like a shot. Currently using SLX crankset which is very good but very dull looking

The freehub-o-cassette is pretty cool. If the cranks bring as much exciting innovation and progress to the table as the Eternity seatpost I guess I'll stick with Shimano though.

Their chainrings are pretty much ready for sale. Unramped though so are only for singlespeed/1x drivetrains. Very nice though.

Cassette/freehub is on its way but they're still working on material choice and specs so it's not really imminent.

Cranks are nowhere near yet, nor is the chain device really.

Crank looks suitible for for 1 x 10 only - which makes sense if Hope produce the 9-36 sprocket... DIRT readers will be splurging all over there clown shoes.

Did STW not go to the Core Bike Show, or are they waiting till we've read all the news elsewhere?

Looks like a Hex head void in the driveside axle. Cant think why.

Like the Middleburn HT2 style cranks, it is easier to make the axle as a separate part and have both ends bolt onto it.

Nice...I'm sure the finished items will look great in the metal too.

Hopefully by using a non driveside interface they'll avoid the Raceface fretting problem that rendered my Evolve X Types useless within fifteen months too.

Notice the last pic on that link is of a packaged Hope chainring but it says "chainrings, bashrings and rotors".

Often thought that a bash would be something easy and useful for Hope to do given their experience in milling blocks of alu and then anodising them pretty colours.

Maybe one (Hope scale) day then 😉

Um, they look a bit to knarly for me. However I do like their front mech, it all looks a bit too Motocross mind you? Are they as smooth as the Bit S, shifting wise?

CNC'd cranks surely cannot be as stiff as forged such as XTR...?
