Nice.
Nice! And this one doesn't look like it's melted! I was starting to think they didn't know how to produce a nice looking bike, but definite Spur/Optic vibes to this, absolutely a Good Thing.
Interesting to see they've gone with a concentric pivot around the rear axle, always liked how Treks with the split pivot rode.

The 916 looks beautiful in the plastic, but this looks very nice too.
Nice
Is it? Â
Whilst not necessarily ugly, to me it looks just like a pretty standard carbon full suspension frame with the rear pivot in the wrong place.
I'm sure there are dozens like it on Aliexpress without the 'Hope' price tag.

Looks smart to me. Is this their first carbon swingarm?
Â
[ Just followed a link to a 916 review... so can answer that question myself now... no. ]
Looks fairly 'generic' to me too, so meh.Â
Â
Definitely doesn't shout 'I want one of those'
Not entirely sure what those saying it looks meh are expecting? most bikes look the same these days and the Hope will be lovely up close.

When I've seen a new Hope bike in the past, I've usually gone 'ooh'. This doesn't do that for me. What do you want from me? 😉Â
Â
It never struck me tbh. I mean the finish and paint was undoubtedly lovely, bit the shape just looked very awkward to me. I think it was the combination of the raised chainstay and relatively high TT with the idler and related hardware that just made it look a bit gatey. But that's just to my eyes 🙂
Lines on this are so much cleaner, and I imagine the finish will be impeccable.Â
Much like cars of today which all seem to look the same. Presumably as desires are fed I to a computer and the best low drag, fuel efficient shape is the result.
This looks like the engineer has typed in travel, angles etc and the computer has come up with a very similar looking bike to a lot of others on sale, most of which will be quite a bit cheaper too no doubt.
So yea a long winded way of saying it wouldn't stand out in a line up of other short travel bikes unless you looked at the price tag.
I like it - clean lines and (visually) looks like it has much longer reach than previous Hope bikes.

I wasn't expecting anything as I didn't know they were making a new frame. All I see is a swing-arm design with linkage actuated shock so nothing interesting there apart from maybe the pivot point on the frame, and the carbon frame looks nice enough but certainly isn't standout in the world of copy/paste CF frames.
I'm not complaining, just not getting excited either. What is it going to provide that isn't already available on the market that will warrant the undoubted high price tag cost?
Â
More importantly, why isn't it plastered in gaudy coloured Hope anodised components? With matching rim decals?
