Hi there, I am getting back into biking after a many year hiatus.

Here is my current new rig (It's a work in progress):

[IMG] [/IMG]

I have no idea where the frame is from, other than eBay (£5 bargain) but it is solid and steel!

All of the other bits are donated, mostly from a work colleagues old LTS.

This weekend, I will be fitting the bottom bracket and the rest of the chainset with just a rear mech cable, a front brake and a seatpin to finish for phase one! This will let me get to work for free, thus freeing up over £100 / month!

This looks like a froody place to be!

Thanks

Rysz.

aloha.

you may be saving £100 a month by buying that bike, but i can assure you, in 6 months time you're going to be wishing you had just stuck to driving as you fill up your ChainReactionCycles shopping cart for the 4th time that month, wondering what it is that forces you to continually buy new, shiny and increasingly expensive parts 😆

you'll love it here, you don't happen to work in IT do you?

Is that a shed disguised as a car?

Hello.

You said 'froody', I think you will find lost of closet h2g2ers lurking here too. 😀

Strangely yes I do - that's a little spooky! I am a huge recycling fan and will go out of my way to get older kit running!

i would love to know how you can dive that car?

Sadly, the 309 is not on the road at the moment and as no-one wants to buy my E46 touring, it won't be for a while 🙁

Thanks people!

Rysz.

welcome to the hotel california

1) tyre logos not aligned with rim stickers
2) car is full of junk, what IS that on the back seat?
3) that bike will be a right laugh, ride it like a hooligan

Waves back 🙂

The car is being used as a shed at the moment as the shed is full of other stuff... It is a dishwasher on the back seat, plus a couple of PC's, the kids bikes and a few other bits are in there as well!

Think you should loose the pink padding on the bars and the white brake cables though. 🙂

Hi

now, if you're going to say "howdy" I think you have to refer to your bike as a steed rather than a rig. STW hates mixed bike metaphors even more than homophobia or arcade fire

Hello. I knew you were into "IT" when you said "froody". Using a car as a shed is a novel idea 🙂

I am really not sure what the frame is, it has crudcatcher bosses and the gussets and also that strange plate that sits behind the BB that older bikes had for a kickstand!

Any ideas for identification are all welcomed!

I will only be using 8 gears for now, see how I get on!

Thanks for all of the responses!

The 309? Not yet sadly. I have to sell my E46 touring to get the cash to MOT / Insure the wee beasty!
