I've recently returned to riding after a long break, and decided i've been dicing with death due to my switchblade being around 11 years old...
I've just seen this, and can't fault it for discount... Anyone got anything good or bad to say, or an alternative for a similar price?
Just for the record, can this not turn into a CRC bashing thread? 🙂
I got a Giro - but I tried one on first (in Evans) and I'm glad I did. Even though it was a replacement I'd have got the wrong size.
Recently bought a new Giro Xar from the nice people at OnOne.
Nice big discount too.
got myself an urge earlier this year a bit pricey but worth it realy got fit and very light
What's wrong with an older helmet? 11 years doesn't seem much for a bit of plastic-covered polystyrene.
Well motorbike helmets are essentially the same I think, and the suggestion is to change those every 4 years...
I'd be happy to keep it, whats the consensus when it comes to age of a helmet?
I'm not sure how genuine this site is but it suggests only the really old 70s helmets actually suffered from ageing issues.

You're absolutely right looking for a new one! Check out the discounted Giros at On One (as above) - the Cratoni you've chosen from CRC I have no experience of, but it appears to be discontinued too, so a bit of a non-starter sadly.
Something like the Giro Indicator - £26 - would be worth a punt - and not apart from most likely safer than your old lid, should be comfier, lighter and better vented to boot.
