Been mulling over this for a while. I have an on one 45650b with nice spec on it. I got a very good deal 2nd hand, and it’s been ridden a fair bit so owes me little. I love it, but it’s just too big, the frame is an XL (20”), and at 5”11 it’s not that fun to ride.

I would like something that I can transfer the parts over to, but can also be used for dirt jumping and pump track duties, as well as relatively short trail rides etc. I have my full susser for big days out, I think firstly I need to downsize, potentially to a medium frame, to make it more ‘chuckable’. I’ve very much bought into the longer lower slacker marketing however, so I now like riding a bigger bike.

Any ideas on what hardtail frame would suit this? I was thinking a Cotic BFE, but it still may be too ‘trail’ orientated.

No budget as such, but 2nd hand is likely, and I have 650b parts, so would have to be a 650b frame.

Cotic Soul.

edit - sorry mis-read the BFE being too trail and went the other way with it!

thanks - yeah will keep an eye out for the stanton and a bfe potentially. Would the stanton be suitable for pump track duties?

I know i'm after something that doesn't really exist, a pump track trail bike, so just need something in between.

'Old' shape BFe 275- I love mine (small) and use it for all sorts of stuff. It goes to the BMX track, to trail centres and to the shops, and it'll be doing an enduro this weekend as well.

Charge Blender if you're really not gonna do much pedaling.

I was after the same thing, a bike to mess around on sessioning jumps and drops, fortnightly trip to the BMX track and also capable of taking in an xc ride. Bought a Stanton Slackline 3 years ago and it's still going strong, no other bike I'd change it for BUT I have got a dedicated BMX / Pump track bike now. The Slackline was more capable than most but in the end you're never going to get the steep angles and firm suspension that work best for the pump track in a bike that's also great for throwing down a rocky trail.

Do any of your mates have hardtails you can try on the pumptrack? BFe and Zero AM are both good choices if you want a fairly long frame with a short seat tube and low top tube.

I have a Cotic BFE 275 frame for sale at the moment, including Hope Headset. It's size medium so should be perfect as I'm 5'11" too. My email is in my profile. Let me know if you want some pictures.

long bikes are relatively poor for pumptracks. I expect you'll find something from last years unfasionable 'not super long' bin that'd meet your needs (ns surge? smaller on-one? Ragley or other? older dartmoor hornet)

My large Soul 275 frame is for sale, orange, at 5' 11" could suit you with a nice short stem.
