bit of advice pleae, as in the market for a new ht, currently on a mk3 cotic soul and a bit out of date with curretn groupset and forks. I was going to buy a sentier from wiggle, 27’5 boost wheels, revelations 140mm and nx eagle 12speed groupset with a dropper, currently around £1300 ( can get one for a bit less). how do the forks on the scandal compare to the revs and is the £999 gx eagle build better value, add in a dropper takes it too about 1150 with the postage?? Much difference in the wheels specced on the bikes. Any others to consider around the £1000 mark, for riding along, up down and around hills on in the lakes and a bit of trail centre use.
Many thanks
The Sentier is pretty good - I like the one I’ve got - although I built it up from a frame only with Pikes /
gx 11 speed / dt swiss wheels etc.
Worth looking maybe at the new On One Scandal (29er) which has a £999.99 build with GX Eagle / Rockshox 35’s / ok wheels / guide brakes etc.
The Sonder Transmitter also looks ok - although there’s currently a gap between the £999 one and the next one up which feels like too much of a jump for me.
Sunset bikes sometimes get good deals on Orange too - could look at the Clockwork Evo.
+1 on the Sentier. It's great fun. Mine is also frame only build with 160mm Yari on the front and 2.8" tyres.
160mm is quite a lot on the Sentier - I’ve got a 140mm Pike on mine. Also not running it plus - got 2.4 chunky monkey on the front and 2.25 Smog on the back.
When winter comes it’ll have a 2.35 Magic Mary on the front and probably a 2.3 Dhr2 as none of the Schwalbe rear tyres seem to be able to hold onto their nobbles whilst also being grippy.
