Thanks chaps. It certainly feels stiffer than the Intense it's replaced. According to the spread sheet it's almost identical weight too.
At the moment. Frame will take 27.5 if I decide to go that way. It's my only bike so will, hopefully, be good for everything.26" front and rear?

Awesome, this frame is slowly chipping away at my resolve to build an out and out DH bike next year....i'm thinking some bombproof 26 inch wheels, a new set of 'old' Lyriks with the new internals, Saint everything else.....Mmmm, nice.
That said, am i right in thinking there was a German racer at Val di Sole with one of these in the 190mm rear travel setting and some 200mm dual crown Boxxers on the front?!....if so that'd be just splendid....180mm ultra-Enduro/Park bike with the ability to convert to 190/200 with some dual crown forks and go race DH....with either 26 or 27.5 wheels....those Germans are bloody good arent they!?
*edit, just googled 'Liteville 601 downhill' and loads come up in the 190 setting wearing dual crown forks...that throws a very pleasant spanner in the works, how much are they?....

I'll post a pic of mine once I've built it.
I've gone for 26" rear and 650B front with the Syntace W40 rims.
From riding the 601s previously in Garda and in Finale, I've found the geometry adjustment to make quite a noticable difference but easy to experiment with on the trail. I ran it in slackest position 90% of the time though and with a 180 fork, so suspect you'll find it climbs well enough without needing to steepen it up.
Those SCS chainguides are almost silent and very effective but the inserts are prone to wear. I got about a year out of mine on the 301 with a double. New inserts are worth buying from German sites when you're placing a bigger order and stick 'em on the shelf for later.

If you want to fit dual crowns, make sure you go for the Mk3.
The change since Mk2 is the incorporation of a strengthening brace internal to the downtube where the stanchions of a dual crown would bump.

I might yet part with my 301 XL.
Plan is to run the 601 that I'm building and 301 back-to-back for a while and if the 601 doesn't prove to be a hindrance for all-day Lakeland epics etc, then I'll let the 301 go.

So how is the bike then steveid? Any good?
Only had 1 ride out so far. Initial thoughts are that it will be very, very good indeed. Need some tweaking with the shock and fork settings but climbed as well as the old VPP Intense. Point it down and it flies..
The shocks need a bit of a play but found that the settings on the Vivid Air make a huge difference to how it behaves.
Can definitely feel the difference in frame stiffness, the rear feels much more planted and the front tracks better.
Weight wise, it's come in at 31lbs so just a tad heavier than the frame it's replaced. Hoping to save a bit of weight with some lighter wheels for 'normal' riding.
Got a couple of weeks to get it dialed in then a day at BTW to give it a full shakedown 🙂
