Hello,

First time buying kneepads. I measured my legs as per instructions and seem to fit in the L size but they do feel rather a bit tight. I don't think they're quite blood constricting but certainly a bit tighter than I would have guessed.

I read a lot about kneepads stretching - can anyone confirm? Would it be a mistake if I sized up?

If you egg me on enough I'll post a photo of my thighs with them on oooh errr missus.

No you won’t, cos posting photos is impossible (for me anyway!).

Are you talking about the D30 knee sleeve ones? I measured up for a large and find them tight at the top. My son’s XL are a much better fit for me. I also have the big d30 ones with the hard cap in large and they fit perfect.

They are initially quite tight but mine did loosen up a bit with stretching.

Don’t ever mix them up with the elbow pads in your kit bag though, I once wondered why my knee pads where almost impossible to get on. It was either I had put on huge amounts of weight in a few weeks or something medically was wrong with my legs.
I was just about to hobble over to my mates to whine, when I noticed that my knee pads were lying in the car boot:-)

I’ve got some Fox Enduros and I was between a Large and a Med. I went for the Med in the end, as like yourself had heard that they stretch a little. They were a little snug for the first couple of rides (as in, aware that they’re there but. It restricting movement) but have relaxed since. Not sure if that’s helpful.

That is helpful as I also have the Enduros. Snug is how I would describe the current fit. A little bit of a muffintop on the tights over the top band.

Maybe i'll try wear them around the house for a bit to see if they loosen up!

Mine are old and baggy. Came off last night and my left kneepad slipped out the way and left my knee exposed and consequently knackered 🙁

My iXS Flows felt like you described, I was considering returning them but read of the stretching on here. Few rides later, they're great and haven't continued stretching beyond that.

Good to hear. They should really come with a stretch warning or something!

Hmm, my experience is if kneepads feel tight trying them on (not just snug but cutting into your skin), then it's worth trying the next size up.

I'm an average sized person but often take XL kneepads.
